Covenant

This document provides the rules and expectations of group members working on the Gallery project, which aims at improving and redesigning the user interface. All group members are currently in agreement with the rules outlined below, but should one of the group members feel that rules do not apply to the overall team goals, that group member can call a meeting to discuss changes to this document.

This document is here to provide the team with guidelines of our group’s expectations of one another. But if a team member no longer complies with this covenant, it could be grounds for removal from the group. In the event that a team member no longer fulfills the requirements of this covenant, the team will take a vote to determine a course of action.

Communication

Email

Our group email address associated with this project space is gallery682 [at] ctools [dot] umich [dot] edu.  All group email communications will be directed to this address, and these emails will be automatically archived on the project site.  Each team member agrees to check their email at least twice per day during the week, with at least one check each morning and one additional check at some subsequent point during the day. Each team members agrees to check their email at least one time each weekend day.  Emails that require a response should be acted upon within 24 hours of receipt.

Phone

In general, our group has agreed that it is acceptable to be reached by cell phone with few restrictions, including weekends, as long as this is not abused.

Meetings

Group Meetings

We will have one regularly scheduled group meeting each week and additional as-needed group meeting. The regularly schedule meeting will be take place Fridays from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. The other group meeting will take place on Tuesdays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and will be used as a secondary meeting time to finish milestones and other project related task.

Meetings will be held on campus or at the residence of a group member if needed, or in other locations as deemed appropriate by the group. If for any reason a team member cannot attend a meeting, they should inform the other group members by e-mail or phone as soon as possible. Additional or emergency meetings can be scheduled at the discretion of the group.

Weekend meetings will take place as needed, but will be kept at a minimum.

Client Meetings

Client meetings will take place at least every other week as scheduled by the team.

Milestones & Tasks

The project manager role will change for each milestone, allowing each of us to gain skills in leading and guiding the group.

If anyone is unable to complete the task assigned to them by the team or class designated deadline, they should notify the rest of the team as soon as possible, but at a minimum of 24 hours before the scheduled deadline to allow other team members to assist them.
